Who should be in this collection?

What I love about artists’ words is that, while they are often in relation to their art, they’re also so much about life.Katy Hessel, art historian

The collection grows by word of mouth. If there’s a voice that belongs in Traceable, this is the way in.

Being interviewed

Interviews last about 30 to 60 minutes and can take place in person or remotely. You’ll receive the questions in advance and have the opportunity to review and approve your edited responses before publication.

Advising the project

As Traceable develops, we welcome guidance from people with experience in oral history, archival practice, and building sustainable organizations. If you’re interested in contributing your perspective, please get in touch.

Institutions

We welcome conversations with museums, university art departments, digital humanities centers, libraries, and archives interested in the project. As the collection grows, we hope to explore options for its long-term preservation and access.
